Environmental Project
Data Collection for GHG Emissions Using 4C Carbon Footprint Add-On Methodology
4C successfully implemented a project funded by the Center of Global Commons at the University of Tokyo, entitled ‘Data collection for GHG Emissions using 4C Carbon Footprint Add-On’. The project collected data from three key origins: Brazil, Colombia and Vietnam.

Environmental Project
Latin America Coffee Carbon Footprint Baseline Study
4C is implementing a project within a consortium led by Meo Carbon Solutions (MCS), acting as Technical Service Provider for the Latin America Coffee Carbon Footprint Baseline Study, initiated by Conservation International under the Sustainable Coffee Challenge.

Boosting Yields for Climate Friendly Robusta Coffee in Tanzania
As the world seeks solutions to face the reality of climate change, the importance of mitigating the effects of greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions becomes increasingly significant. Coffee production and its value chain are significant contributors to GHG emissions, yet it simultaneously plays a key role in sustaining millions of livelihoods worldwide. Tanzania is no exception. The total GHG emissions from Tanzania in 2014 were 286.49 million metric tonnes of carbon dioxide equivalent (MtCO₂e), totalling 0.59% of global GHG emissions.

Pilot Project
Empowering Smallholder Coffee Farmers in Colombia to Claim Deforestation-Free Coffee Through Digital Tools
The aim of the pilot project is to support Colombian smallholder farmers in understanding and complying with the upcoming EU regulation on deforestation-free products and have continued or even improved access to EU markets.
With over 90,000 families involved in coffee cultivation across 93,000 hectares of Arabica coffee plantations, the department of Cauca represents a significant coffee growing region. It is home to a diverse population, including Afro-descendants, Nasa Indigenous peoples, and mestizo communities.
Project Portfolio
Improving Biodiversity in Coffee Landscapes in Vietnam
The overall aim of the project is to enhance biodiversity in coffee production by setting up and implementing biodiversity action plans at the landscape level, using the Biodiversity Performance Tool (BPT) adapted to the local context of the region in which it is applied.

Pilot Project
Improving Traceability within ABICS’ Coffee Supply Chain Using Innovative Technologies
This pilot project was launched with the objective of providing a solution for 4C Managing Entities to improve their internal management systems. The tool promoted through the project facilitates certification and data collection for audits, while also supporting traceable and deforestation free supply chains.
