Public consultation is a fundamental part of 4C’s process, ensuring our certification system develops through transparency, inclusiveness and stakeholder input. We welcome all comments and feedback on this document during the public consultation period from 30 November 2025 to 31 March 2026. 4C will review all feedback and consider it to draft the final version 5.0 of these documents.
Important note: 4C continuously collects feedback to improve the 4C Code of Conduct, which is revised every 5 years.

4C Code of Conduct
Previous Revision Process
During the 2019/20 revision, we drew on years of experience and extensive stakeholder feedback from meetings, calls and business correspondence. This collaborative process ensured that the system became more robust and aligned with evolving sustainability needs.
Stakeholders were invited to contribute comments and feedback on the new version, resulting in the current 4C Code of Conduct v4.0.
