4C is globally recognised for its commitment to credible and transparent sustainability standards. As a full member of the ISEAL Alliance, 4C complies with rigorous Codes of Good Practice for standard-setting, assurance, and impact measurement. This membership reflects our dedication to continuous improvement and alignment with internationally recognised best practices in sustainability certification.

The International Trade Centre (ITC) is a joint agency of the World Trade Organization (WTO) and the United Nations (UN), dedicated to fostering inclusive and sustainable economic development in line with the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Through its Trade for Sustainable Development (T4SD) programme, ITC supports businesses across the value chain in navigating the sustainability landscape and connecting with responsible trade partners.

4C is listed on the T4SD Sustainability Map, a platform that integrates established tools such as the Standards Map and SustainabilityXchange, enabling users to compare various sustainability standards.

4C has been awarded both Gold and Silver Level Equivalence under the Sustainable Agriculture Initiative (SAI) Platform’s Farm Sustainability Assessment (FSA) 3.0. This recognition reflects 4C’s commitment to continuous improvement in sustainable agriculture, with Silver Level Equivalence achieved at the initial sustainability benchmark within the first three years and Gold Level Equivalence awarded following ongoing improvements by producers.

As a longstanding partner of the SAI Platform, 4C actively promotes sustainability across the food and drink sector. By aligning with SAI’s rigorous benchmarks, 4C enhances market accessibility for certified operations, ensuring stronger integration into responsible and sustainable supply chains.

Following consultation with the Ethical Trading Initiative Norway (IEH), the 4C Code of Conduct has been recognised as aligned with IEH’s Ethical Trade Principles. These principles promote responsible business conduct, ensuring respect for human rights, fair working conditions, and environmental sustainability across supply chains. This recognition underscores 4C’s commitment to fostering ethical trade and continuous improvement in sustainable sourcing practices.

4C is a proud participant in the UN Global Compact, the world’s largest corporate sustainability initiative. By aligning with its Ten Principles on human rights, labour, the environment, and anti-corruption, 4C reinforces its commitment to responsible business practices and sustainable development.

Through this participation, 4C actively contributes to the advancement of the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), driving positive impact across global coffee supply chains.
