Human Rights Due Diligence
Human Rights Due Diligence (HRDD) has become a key requirement for companies operating in global supply chains.
Businesses are expected to identify, prevent, and address risks related to labour rights, fair working conditions, gender equality, and community well-being. For coffee and cocoa supply chains, this means working closely with producers in regions where risks can be high and monitoring practices throughout every stage of production and trade.
4C provides a comprehensive framework to help companies meet HRDD obligations. Through our certification system, third-party audits, and targeted projects, we support businesses in managing risks, implementing preventive measures, and demonstrating accountability.

To strengthen HRDD efforts, 4C also offers the Food Security Add-On, developed in collaboration with Welthungerhilfe. This Add-on is independently benchmarked against human rights due diligence requirements and fully complies with them. It provides companies with an additional verified tool to demonstrate responsible business conduct and enhance their human rights impact at origin.

Beyond Compliance
Human Rights Due Diligence goes beyond compliance. It is about protecting people and empowering communities across global supply chains. 4C supports organisations turning legal obligations into meaningful action, driving better livelihoods, advancing gender equality, and building more resilient communities.
